Assume I got a PDF which is already filled with text, image objects and other stuff.
Now I want to place just some text on top of existing content.
I want to be able to define font size, font family, font color. The background should be transparent.
How can I achieve this?
Do I always have to define a text object at first?
No instant typing possible?
How to add just text with transparent background and defined font size, font color and font family?

Hello, mattad
You can either use the "add text" tool from the home tab (If you wish to add new base content text) Or the "Edit text" tool, directly beside it, to modify existing page text.
If the document does not allow base content editing, or you simply wish to add text another way, the "typewriter" tool, on the comment tab will serve a similar purpose.
With the text selected as you use any of these tools, you can look to the Format tab to modify the text formatting, or you can open the properties pane (Ctrl_`) to see most of the same options.
Kind regards,

Hello mattad,
As you are using the Classic UI, those two features are available in the Tool dropdown menu:
Add Text: Add Typewriter:
