I created a keyboard shortcut for the typewriter tool:
Nothing happens when I press the shortcut. I've tried it with a number of different key combinations but nothing happens.
My goal is to use the keyboard shortcut to quickly invoke the typewriter tool.

Hello, mCHSNUg5Pz8cPap
Ctrl+Num1 is bound to the "switch to first document tab" action, which would be absorbing this keybind before the Typewriter can be activated. You can see a warning about this below the field when you are trying to add any key combination: We still allow you to assign conflicting keybinds because there are many functions that are context sensitive and wont conflict, however, when two do conflict, only one of them will be actioned.
In this case, you will need to use a different key combination, I would recommend Alt+Shift+T, since that is not used by anything: Kind regards,

Re: Possible Bug: Keyboard Shortcut Not Working
On the one hand, it is nice to assign conflicting keyboard shortcuts for context sensitive actions. I do this with the F2 key. On the other hand, it would be nice if there was a way to override the original keyboard shortcut. I will never use Ctrl+Num1 to switch to the first document tab. I would rather use it to invoke the typewriter tool.Daniel - PDF-XChange wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 3:08 pm We still allow you to assign conflicting keybinds because there are many functions that are context sensitive and wont conflict, however, when two do conflict, only one of them will be actioned.
I wonder if there is an elegant way to allow both conflicting keyboard shortcuts for context sensitive actions and allow a keyboard shortcut to override a preset shortcut?

Hello, mCHSNUg5Pz8cPap
There is no way to override directly, while leaving the other one intact, but if it shows in the "currently used by" menu, you can search for that command, and change, or remove its key binding: Since you said you will never used Ctrl+num1 to do this, you might as well remove the binding, allowing it to be used by the typewriter.
Kind regards,
