I need to send a PDF file to a network printer without any user intervention. The document is 24"x36" and needs to be printed in landscape mode. I tried the following command:
pdfxedit /print:default=no;showui=no;printer="<name_of_printer>" "<name_of_file>"
I have tried both default=no and default=yes, but both options print the wrong size and the wrong orientation. The PDF page size is 24"x36" and it displays landscape. Is there a way to get it to print exactly as shown when I open the file?
Thanks,
Ken

Re: command line printing using pdfxedit.exe
Hello, ketter
The "default" switch itself may be messing this up, I would omit it in your case.
If it is not specified, than the Editor should pull the "last used" settings for this action. In your case, I would advise performing one print job with "showui=yes", to configure the settings, and then you can disable showui for future uses of the command.
I suppose it is worth noting that the action does run as the "current user", not as Admin, so the results can change based on which user us performing these actions.
Kind regards,

Re: command line printing using pdfxedit.exe
Daniel,
That worked, but I have an additional question. This print job will be sent daily from a computer that is used for management purposes by me only. This computer is rarely used for printing. But if I were to use this computer to print a file with different parameters, would that mess up this print task?

Hello, ketter
Yes, since it loads the "last used" settings, making changes via the GUI would have an impact here.
At the moment, I do not believe there is a way to define or choose a settings preset to be used.
I will raise the topic at our next meeting to see what could be done.
[Edit] We have a ticket!

Thanks! It would be great if we could specify a saved printer setting.
