How do I remove highlight from text?

I previously highlighted a sentence from a PDF document and saved it with the highlight. Now I need to remove that highlight. How do I do so?

Click on the highlight to select it. It will get a light blue border.

Press the Delete key.

This advice is fine so long as the highlights are actually objects in the Comments panel.

If not and the highlights are embedded in the content (i. e., if the page has been 'flattened'), then the user must go to the Content panel and search through the XForms to find the offending highlight(s) which tend to show as "Path" and then delete those entries. Admittedly, this is a rather painstaking process but it is possible.

Again, this applies where the highlights are Comments objects but not if the highlight in embedded in the Content. In that case, Content editting is required and possible.
