How to prune or expand selection of annotations?

Post by PetrKrysl »

I don't know how to deselect one of overlapping annotations. Or how to extend the selection.
What's the secret?

Example: Text box and pen scribble. When I want to drag just the scribble
I can't seem able to select it without also selecting the text box.

Hello, PetrKrysl

After selecting the whole composition, use Ctrl+Click on the items you do not wish to include, to remove them from the selection.

This works both with the "Edit Objects" tool, for base content, and for the "Select Comments" tool, when comments are selected.

Hello, PetrKrysl

The icon depends on the content in question, generally, either clicking on the content in question directly, or anywhere inside of the "box" that was drawn around the content you do not want selected, will allows you to remove specified content items.
Often "text" content will be contained inside of an "xform" which will put a small "XF" icon beside the cursor, which you can see in my gif above if it is the case in your file.
