Feature request – Redact entire page(s) based on page range

Post by Duddi »

Hi! :-)

I am a frequent user of PDF-XChange Editor (currently version 10.6.1 397) and I often need to redact the entire content of specific pages while keeping the pages themselves — and especially their bookmarks — intact.

At the moment, the only way to achieve this seems to be by manually drawing a redaction rectangle over each page one by one. While this works, it is very time-consuming when many pages need to be redacted.

I would like to request a feature that allows users to redact entire pages by selecting a page range (for example, pages 5–20) — similar to how one can replace or delete pages by range. Ideally, this would:
• Apply a full-page redaction automatically to the chosen pages.
• Preserve the pages themselves and their existing bookmarks.
• Allow setting the redaction color (e.g., white instead of black).

Such a feature would greatly improve workflows for those of us who need to blank out large sections of documents without altering the document structure.

Thank you very much for considering this suggestion.

Best regards,
Ditte

Hello Duddi,

If what you are trying to redact is on the same place on each page you may use Duplicate tool to redact several pages at once:

Allow setting the redaction color (e.g., white instead of black).

You can set that from here:

If you really want to eliminate everything on those pages, you could make a new document with a blank page, then use the "Replace Pages" tool to enter the page range that you want to replace.

The approach I use is to select the target page(s) in the Content panel and simply delete the content in it/them.
All best,
