Data Privacy

Post by RenewalTax »

I use PDF-Xchange on a single laptop. What risks are there for data privacy (I work with PII) using the software and any features--especially OCR?

Hi RenewalTax,

There are no risks - the software is locally installed, and by default, it processes files entirely on your device. There is no automatic cloud upload or external processing unless you explicitly use cloud or online services. As far as OCR is concerned, the OCR engine runs locally on your machine, and text extraction, recognition, and indexing occur offline. Therefore, no PII is sent to external servers.

I hope that resolves your concerns.

Kind regards,
