page parsing feature??

Post by tdc@xrayted.com »

PDF Exchange Editor does so many useful things I am surprised there doesn't seem to be a way to parse pages in multipage images in a single pdf. So so often when you can get a pdf of a manual for some gadget its a single image of a multi image foldout page. OF COURSE you can CROP and SAVE AS for each page image and then combine to create a more usable multi page PDF. But when these things get to be 30 or 40 pages - that can be a laborious task. Would be GREAT if SOMEHOW PDF editor could be :show one of the pages and then figure out how to parse the rest - maybe outline each page BEFORE splitting the document so manual corrections COULD be made - but I'd bet that 99% of the time Editor COULD get it right the first time. When I get ANY new gadget I go online to get the PDF and more and more lately its like a paper film strip of small images or, if I can't get it, I have to scan in included paper doc - getting the same result. Anyhow - I know its a shot in the dark - but just asking/suggesting for an improvement in a product that has been so very helpful on so many occasions in the past!

Hi tdc,

We're glad to hear that you're so happy with the software, thanks. I'm afraid there is no automated way to do what you mentioned, but you can use the crop/split features for that purpose.

Kind regards,
