Expand the canvas (page) when correcting skew

Post by Jensen Head »

Currently, when correcting page skew (essentially rotating pages by a slight angle), the resulting page is the same size as the original. If this operation is performed manually, the user can check the function's correct operation in the thumbnail panel and cancel it if any pages were processed incorrectly. However, if PDF-Tools was used to correct the distortion, undoing the operation is impossible, and there is a risk of data loss in such situations:

PDFXEdit (2025-10-13 12-32-38).webp

I propose adding a "expand page to prevent clipping" checkbox to the 'Deskew Pages' dialog (and to the corresponding Action in PDF-Tools).

Hello Jensen Head,

Thank you for your suggestion.

It does sound like something that could save users some trouble.

I’ve forwarded it to our developers for consideration.

Best regards.
