Since build 398, the updater interface language can no longer be set to languages other than “English (US), Built-In”

Hello all,

Starting with build 398, languages other than “English (US), Built-In” have disappeared from the interface language list in PDF-XChange Updater, making it impossible to change to a language other than “English (US), Built-In”.

PDF-XChange Updater, when an older build is installed, downloads the latest Updater when it checks for updates online and then reruns locally. However, starting with build 398, the PDF-XChange Updater can no longer be set to any language other than English. Consequently, even if a non-English language was set via the Tracker Updater or a PDF-XChange Updater prior to build 397, connecting to the internet will trigger the installation of the latest build 401, forcibly changing the language to English.

The first verification video shows installing PDF-XChange PRO package for build 397 with the network interface disabled, then changing the PDF-XChange Updater interface language to “日本語” (Japanese). After enabling the network interface and checking for the latest update, it demonstrates that the language is forcibly changed to English after updating to the build 401 Updater.

The network interface is disabled first because otherwise, launching the Updater would immediately update to build 401. Please note that this is an operation to demonstrate that the interface language can be changed correctly in build 397.

For comparison, the second verification video shows the results of performing the same operations after installing the PDF-XChange PRO package for build 401 from scratch. In this case, changing the PDF-XChange Updater interface language to Japanese is not possible from the start.

For both verifications, the application was completely uninstalled, and the following related folders were also deleted to ensure consistent conditions.

• C:\ProgramData\Tracker Software\TrackerUpdate
  C:\ProgramData\PDF-XChange\Updater

Comparing the logs for PDF-XChange Updater build 397 and build 401, the following line is particularly concerning. It appears that the Localizer's Languages folder path is incorrectly specified in build 401.

• build 397
  • Debug: Localizer's Languages folder path is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Tracker Software\Common\Languages
  build 401
  • Debug: Localizer's Languages folder path is C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\Update\\..\Common\Languages

The folder path “C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\Update\\..\Common\Languages” should theoretically point to “C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\Common\Languages”. However, since that folder does not exist, it appears that Localizer's Languages are failing to load.

Each log file obtained during the video has been uploaded to the server at the address @Dimitar recently provided via email several times as the destination for uploading crash dumps.
