Copying Mark ups
Sirs
I am a newcomer to pdf exchange viewer.
I there any way to copy mark-ups
For instance if I insert a callout box with text on a plan drawing in pdf format, can I copy the callout box and add it elsewhere on the same drawing. This question also applies to all other marks ups.
I've tried the usual Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V techniques as well as Ctrl-mouse techniques to no avail.
Am I missing something, I could find anything in the manual.
Similarly is there a 'snap' facility / gridline facility.
Many thanks in advance
Andy

Re: Copying Mark ups
No. You haven't missed anything, you can copy the text within markup, but not the markup itself.
To align comments, zoom in to greater than page width, scroll horizontally to align the left of the window with the target comment and align other comments to the left of the window.

Re: Copying Mark ups
Thanks for your reply, do you know if in the future do implement copy for markups as we mark up drawings with this package and some walls, for example, need the same comments.
With regards to snap/grid we often overaly a wall with, for example, a green line, to indicate its id a 45dB wall, thus being able to snap the line to a grid would really useful.
Thanks for help so far.

Re: Copying Mark ups
I can only support Andy's suggestion: Copy & Paste of edited objects (Text, comments etc.) and some "align to grid" function (snap) would be a great enhancement for future versions!
Thanks,
Peter

Re: Copying Mark ups
I will third that- I often try to select, copy and paste a comment. (Never works of course, but it is intuitive, and I wish it would work one day).

Re: Copying Mark ups
Just started using the Free viewer and LOVE it. We were scheduled to buy a seat of Adobe but instead will be buying mutiple seats of Viewer Pro.
On day one I was trying to copy markups and paste them. As others have already pointed out it would be very handy if this functionality was added. Please add me to the list of those wanting this enhancement.

Re: Copying Mark ups
Hi,
I have the PDF-XChange Viewer v.2.04105 and cannot copy/paste object such as a "Rectangle", "Cloud", "Arrow", etc. Not being able to copy/paste is very annoying as marking up engineering drawing with symbols, for example a valve, one needs to draw it every time......
Any help here?
Thanks,

Re: Copying Mark ups
Having gotten used to copy and paste for comments and markups, lately I have been wishing I could copy and paste more than one at a time. Usually when I am working with an updated drawing, and want to transfer comments to the new version.
Any chance of adding the capability to select more than one comment at a time - maybe using cntrl-click, and then be able to copy or delete? Perhaps also in the Edit menu add options to select all on page and select all in document?
Thanks.
p.s. During copy paste - I really like how the paste is in the same spot on the page as the copy - when transferring comments, that saves me a lot of time not having to re-align all the arrows and such.

Re: Copying Mark ups
Hello TabletThree,
As far as I know selecting multiple objects is planned for ver3.
In the mean time if you are just copying all comments from one version to another - please try the "Comments -> export comments to data file..." and respectively the "Comments -> Import Comments" features, as this will allow you to transfer them all to the new file.
Best,
Stefan
