How to save text attributes in text box or typewriter or callout presets?

Post by jotess »

Hello,
when I save presets for comment tools that contain text, like text box, typewriter or callout, I can specify the font and its colour and size, but seemingly no other attributes like bold, italic, underline. Is there a way to do this? If not, this would be a feature request.
Best regards

Hi jotess,

Yes - you can do that using the "Make Current Properties Default" option in the Format tab:

What I meant is the dialogue you can see attached. This is what I meant with "presets". Here I can chose font and size, but not other kinds of formatting.

Hello, jotess

Ideally, you just choose the respective font face directly:

Beyond that I am afraid that we do not plan to offer the direct modifier "properties" in this dialogue, as it could cause some other issues. You can either use a font like "Arial Bold" to get the bold version of the font, or you can manually enable it after placement.

Well, that's a workaround, at least for fonts that are available in bold/italic versions. Creating and afterwards manually modifying each and every single note is not a feasible option.

Hi Jotess,

Thanks - I have asked the team to take a look at this. Unless there is some kind of programmatical reason why it can't be done, it seems like a good idea to me.

Update: a ticket has been made in relation to this feature request:

Ticket #7698: Add Option to Specify Bold/Italic Text Presets via the Comment Styles Palette
