Add, please, automatic recognition and perspective correction — frequent page distortions that occur when photographing documents.

Hello Jensen Head,

Those are usually provided by OCR engines and the logic behind automating such operations is quite complex.
I am not sure if any of our engines offers it, but I will ask our devs to check and if available - whether we can include it in our EOCR (as far as I know the engine behind the Standard OCR does not have it).

Judging by the presence of Correct Perspective/2D distortions in the "Enhance Scanned Pages" action settings, and despite the lack of mention of this function in the PDF-XChange Editor Version History, I assume the function has been added and the topic can be closed as complete?

Yes, that ticket and the 2D perspective correction feature are one in the same, just with a different name.

It is important to note that as the name implies, this is exclusive to 2D perspective, and as always, no system is perfect, so there will be cases where the results are less than ideal.

Would it be possible to get an explanation of what the Correct Perspective/2D Distortions is supposed to be doing? I ask because I've got an overhead camera I used to take pictures of book pages and they are necessarily curved because the page isn't laying flat. I assumed this 2D distortion would be corrected by this function. But it seems the lines of text are still wavy.

The issue of correcting warped and curled lines and radial distortion using morphing was previously discussed. Unfortunately, I can't find that thread or a response from a company employee stating that this isn't yet implemented.
