If you have not, please do so now. It should resolve the issue for you - so far I don't believe we have heard from anyone saying it did not help (if it does not help prevent the Tools crash, please tell us immediately!)

Glad to hear it! An official fix for this will be in the next release (10.8.2) which should be coming later today, or tomorrow (hopefully).
