Fixing incorrect color display
Hi there! I first thought this was a problem of my monitor, but then I noticed that other pdf viewers display the colors correctly. I'm not complaining about a slight change of color, but every shade of gray is displayed like yellow/brown, depending on its darkness. This is quite annoying, especially with b/w contents. How or where could I fix that? I have already tried changing the display settings, but that doesn't do anything. What is interesting is that this color shift is also visible in my Windows Explorer preview icons. (PDF-XChange 9.2 built 359, on Windows 11)

Welcome to our Forum.
Please try this solution:
Symptoms
The colors in the document in the document do not display and print correctly.
Cause
This problem is usually caused by a altered or corrupted monitor color profile.
Resolution
Solution 1: What you can do to resolve the problem is to change the settings in the color profile management console so that the monitor profile is not used.
To access the console you must enter Color Management in the Windows Search tool:
In the window that will appear you have to select "Use my settings for this device".
This will overwrite the monitor's color profile settings with the settings you have in the Advanced tab.
Solution 2: If the above solution does not work, please try removing the color profile entirely:
Regards.

Hello, Mariusz1
Before anything else, ensure that windows is up to date and that you have installed all available optional updates (check again after installing and restarting the device - to be sure more dont appear).
In most cases, these issues are caused by an error in the profile itself - in turn windows is providing us the wrong display details, leading to a contrasting output. In most situations, these are resolved by the creator of the device in an update.
If that does not help, we will need the following items:

If that does not help, we will need the following items:
- In the Editor, a screenshot of “Preferences -> Color Management” dialog.
- An export of the Editor application settings (File > Manage settings > Export settings)
- Open the start menu, and type "color management". In the opened window, move over to the "advanced" tab and then click "change system defaults". From there, a nearly identical window should open. In this second window, take a screenshot of the "Advanced" tab. Then on the "all profiles" tab, take a few screenshots as you scroll down through the list presented there so we can compare the list to what is available in the Editor.
- Open the following folder, and copy the content into a new zipped folder, and include those in your reply:
C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color - (If not already provided) A copy of any one document you see this issue with, and screenshots showing a problematic part of this document on your end.

Solution 2 as was suggested on Oct 17, 2025 by Dimitar works for me on an LG Gram laptop with Windows 11.
Thank you!
