PDF documents won't open

Good morning, I saved some documents generated by my computer as PDFs, but they won't open. I tried other readers, and the files open.

Good evening, Sean, I opened the file on a computer at work and it closed immediately, while at home, on my laptop, it opened normally.

My best guess here would be that this is caused by an improperly installed (or missing) copy of VCRedist from Microsoft.
Please download and install the VC Redistributable pack from Microsoft's site: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/w ... w=msvc-170

Buongiorno Daniel, grazie per aver risposto, mi scuso per il ritardo ma tra lavoro e feste ero un pò preso. Venendo al consiglio, da come hai detto è supponibile che xchange abbia avuto problemi per una installazione errata di VC Redistributable, in genere sono contrario ad installare qualsiasi cosa di microsoft ed in particolare i suoi programmi, lo fanno già abbastanza da soli, senza contare che quello che devo installare non è chiaro, il link che mi hai dato lo trovo confusionario e il pc è dedicato al lavoro e va già male con tutti gli aggiornamenti che mi installa ed ogni volta qualcosa si modifica; se non fossi obbligato, per me, microsoft potrebbe chiudere. Scusa lo sfogo ma, tornando al problema è strano che alcuni pdf li apra ed altri no. Comunque grazie del tuo tempo AUGURI PER UN ANNO SERENO. Ciao.

I appreciate the sentiment and often feel the same, but in the end our software is developed on Windows systems, for use exclusively in a Windows environment, and relies heavily on Windows subsystems. If those are not properly installed, it can and often will cause issues. I am glad to hear that this has started working, but if the issue comes up again, the first thing to try will be installing the VC redistributable's mentioned before (they are required for a bundle of key features in our software, including in some cases, the open actions.
Specifically, you will be looking for one of these three options from the link i sent previously:

You will need to determine which installer should be used on your device. If you are unsure, you can simply download and run all 3. A 64-bit device could actually benefit from having both the 32 and 64 bit copies present, though it is not strictly necessary, while it would disallow the arm64 version from running, as an example.

Buonasera Daniel, grazie ancora per pazienza e velocità, bene ora che mi hai dato più indicazioni provo a reinstallare il file, il sistema operativo è a 64 bit, quindi il X64, l'ultimo dubbio è se per installare devo disinstallare e l'eventuale possibilità di creare qualche problema.

There should not be any need to uninstall anything, but you will want to restart the PC after installing the VCRedist package to ensure it takes proper effect.
