Sometimes, I will do something to a page (maybe Splitting, for instance) that will change the page and move things around whilst leaving Comments where they were. I am not sure why this happens but sometimes Comments do not stick to the underlying content as the Comments were originally placed. It is sort of like moving the living room carpet a foot west but the chairs stay right where they were.
I can correct this if I know it has happened which is not always the case. For instance, on day one I might lay down a Comment or two. Much later I might Split the page to take out empty space. Then much later, I might go back and see the Comments no longer overlay the text as originally placed. This can be fixed using the Transform tool and I have assigned a hot-key to it (for ease of access).
But I am wondering if this is the only way of correcting the placement of Comments. Mathew has created the Offset Lines tool which looks brilliant but I am thinking an analogous tool for Comments might be useful and easier. Does such a thing exist? I cannot find it.
Thanking you in advance for considering this and any thoughts or comments you might have. This is not a dreaded Feature Request.

Re: Transform [Move] Comments
Hello, PHK
In practice (following your example) while you thought you were only moving the carpet, in reality, you made the Living-Room itself 2 inches smaller, so now everything in the house feels a little disjointed, and the couch intersects the wall.
To avoid this, I would suggest one of two courses of action.
I expect this here is the root of the problem. If you are removing some portion of the page (reducing the width of the page for example) - then the resultant re-merged document following that would have some of the comment positions offset due to the discrepancy there.

- During the split process, ensure that you have chosen to "change the physical size of the page" AND unchecked the "preserve original content" option. This will ensure that each page does not have a duplicate of all comments from the source page that was split to create them. Instead, each page only retains the items relevant to that specific page.
- ~~OR~~
After the Split process, AND any cropping you choose to do to remove whitespace, use these two features, in this order: This should result in the pages being cut down in the same way, and prevent any overlapping from leftover content that was carried over by the split.

Re: Transform [Move] Comments
Many thanks for your quick response, Daniel.
It seems that whilst I was figuratively on my hands and knees with zoomed-in focus on where the legs of chairs were with respect to the carpet, I was oblivious to the God's-eye view of the room shrinking around me!
So, your advice is spot-on with respect to the Split Pages tool settings; all these years I have had the 'wrong' option, i. e., not the 'Change the physical size...' although 'Preserve original content' has always been unchecked.
As for the second suggestion, I have to admit I have not been using 'Normalize.' Let me work that into my repertoire and see how that goes.
