Two facing pages in fullscreen mode wanted

Post by telyn »

Hello Tracker-Team,

I'd like to have a view of two facing pages in fullscreen mode.
Acrobat Reader and FoxIt Reader can do this.

It's very useful on bigger widescreen monitors e.p. 22" 1680x1050.

If I have two facing pages on my scren and switch to fullscreen mode (F12)
PDF-XChange Viewer will switch back to sigle page display.

But PDF-XChange Viewer can do it with a trick so it should be easy to implement:
Display two facing pages, press F12 (fullscreen), click right mouse button
and select Go To -> Previous View.

Instead of switching to single page display PDF-XChange Viewer should use
- the current page layout
or
- the preferred page layout (from configuration dialog)

Best regards

Michael

As you point out, PDF-XChange can already do this. You can also assign shortcut keys to single page and facing page view modes, so it is not exactly a high priority, though I can understand the wish to retain the current viewing mode when switching to fullscreen, e.g. fit to width rather than always defaulting to full page view and single page mode.

Try creating a custom toolbar and assign a shortcut key to show/hide it. That toolbar can have the facing pages/single page icons on it — that's what I use. All kinds of layouts are possible.

Thanks for your help - that works fine as a workaround.

But please consider to change the behaviour of PDF-XChange Viewer when entering fullscreen mode.

Best regards

Hi,
Rather than start a new topic I'll place this here because it has to do with
the fullscreen mode. When coming out of fullscreen mode, Esc, I find a new comments toolbar has been added. I use a custom bar in place of the comments bar. I was wondering if there is a setting to prevent this.

Joe, better start your own thread. This is unrelated, but yes it is an issue worth fixing.
