PDF Tools: Watermark despite active license

My copy of PDF Tools is activated with a valid license

... but folder monitoring (OCR) adds watermarks to the output file.

Do you have any ideas why?

If it is being placed by OCR specifically, you likely still have the 2 week trial of the "Enhanced OCR" engine enabled. If you need to run OCR and generate editable text through PDF-Tools, a "PRO" license is required to cover that feature. A PDF-Tools license does not include the EOCR engine.

If you do not need editable output, you can change the engine in use via the "options > preferences" menu, in the "OCR" category:

(This will also automatically be disabled roughly 2 weeks after your first installation of Tools.
