I was please to discover the automated form fields detection function for scanned PDF forms, but was quickly disappointed to discover that it misses most of them, and flips the radio button check marks around by 90 degrees in relation to the source document.
What can I do to improve form field detection on scanned forms?, and how do I get check marks orientation to automatically follow the document orientation?
Form fields detection not great

Hello,
Welcome to our Forum.
By "automated form fields detection function" do you mean the OCR tool or the Identify Forms tool?
May I ask for screenshots the settings you use in both tools?
Regards.

Hi, you subsequently contacted me privately about this in November 2025 and I sent through more detail and examples, which I believe you were able to replicate, and forwarded it to your developers. Has there been any fix?

Hello, paul.king@prime.net.nz
The team is still working on a fix, but we did find that the core of the issues you experienced are because the document itself is rotated 270 degrees.
While this is not quite a complete/perfect solution, it should help notably with the reliability of the form identification. Open the affected file, and use the "normalize pages" tool, on the Organize tab: This will "set" the rotation to 0, while keeping the pages upright, and notably improves the identify form tools handling of the situation. We are still working on other improvements to this tool, using your sample as a good example for those improvements.
Kind regards,
