How to make text editable?

Hi, I get an externally generated PDF, I OCR it, then I can edit the text using the Edit Text tool, but not always. Sometimes the text is not editable. What’s the difference? Am I doing something wrong? How do I make the text editable?

Could you possible share an example of a file in which the OCR does not generate editable text?
In most cases, this issue would be caused by the document already having a "searchable" text layer in place, (our OCR engine will by default ignore areas where text already exists, even if it is invisible text). So if you are able to "select" the text but typing does not actually change anything visually, that is probably the case.
In that scenario, simply uncheck the "ignore existing text" box in the OCR dialogue, and the EOCR engine will then process areas that do have text (even invisible), and replace that text with a new, properly editable text layer.
