Using the Find function to replace consecutive identical words in a text can lead to unintended results

Post by rakunavi »

Hello all,

I noticed that using the Find function to replace consecutive identical words in a text can lead to unintended results. In my testing, I replaced "before" with "after", but in cases like A2 and B2, even though there were originally multiple instances of "before", only one "after" remained after the replacement. The results differ between the base content and the comments, with the issue being particularly severe in the base content.

Hello, rakunavi

Thank you for the report - I have reproduced the issue and reported it to the team for resolution. I have to admit this one has me stumped... I have no clue why such a difference in handling would come out from the replace all, compared to clicking the singular "replace next" button repeatedly, but here we are!

Kind regards,
