I can't group objects

This is because the "grouping" function is not yet implemented; we have not added it to the main toolbars since it is a work in progress. In short, currently it is not expected to work in any capacity. Hopefully it will be working in a future release, but I cannot offer a timeline at the moment.

That item pertains to editing multiple selected comments at the same time (as in changing the author, color, etc). When this feature is properly implemented, we will add a "group/ungroup comments" item to the feature list there.

Hello RKron,

There is no 'permanent' grouping in the PDF specification, so while you can select several objects in a PDF file and edit their properties as a group - as soon as you deselect them - each is an independent object once again.
So the "group edit" is technically there, but groups as independent and persistent objects are not.

It would be really helpful to group a few elements to move them as a group or to copy them as a group, flip them as group. It's not really necessary to apply properties to all of them at the same time.

Unfortunately the answer is still that there are no changes in that respect and there's no permanent grouping possible for PDF objects, sorry!

Hi Stefan.
I'd like to know why this capability isn't a priority. Not being able to group objects is a surprise. I work in the AEC industry and saw pdf-xchange recommended, so I bought a license to see if we can replace our company's pdf s/w with it. I can't group, and found that stamp tools with editable text isn't possible, either. I'm not really seeing how this is a decent alternative to bluebeam without one of them.
Spending a lot of time doing javascript isn't an alternative. Please let me know if there's something I'm missing.

From Daniel's post on this topic, it seems that development is being worked on at the moment with a reasonably high priority. As a user, I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Comment grouping is particularly complex to perform properly, and many PDF applications do not support it, so ensuring we offer it in a way that is stable is a priority. As such, this is taking a much longer time to develop than originally planned, but it is on its way. I cannot offer a timeline, but rest assured, we have seen the large user demand for such a feature, and it is in development.

Indeed our developers are working on these features.

They are not top priority, as our developers are currently working on other important for our products, features.

At the moment, in feature requests list, there are more than 1000 requests, each waiting to be implemented, and each, important for somebody.

I am afraid that you will have to wait a little while for thee features to be implemented.

I appreciates this feature may not be a top priority. Nevertheless, an objects grouping feature is central to many other features and common in about every editing software and in just a few minutes, in pdf-xchange forums I found forum topics related to this feature dating from 2021; this should raise the priority.

For 20+ years, I was a developer and development manager, we were not always walking on the ground, sort of space cadet smoking carpet. May I suggest your sentence should be: "Ultimately the decision on what get implemented is at the discretion of the SUPPORT and BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, NOT the developer.
