Can't modify doc with interactive form fields SOLVED

When I open a doc with interactive form fields a number of the editing functions in PDF Xchange are disabled e.g. I can't add pages etc.

Why is this happening and how do I stop it?

Some documents have security in place to prevent editing/printing/etc, or only allow form filling. This is not something we are doing incorrectly, but something that the document in question specifically tells the PDF software handling it to do. There is no way to prevent this from happening unless you are the one who applied the security in question or know the password. In such a case, you can remove the security from the document properties (Ctrl+D) under security.

As a work around, I've been making changes in an alternative PDF editor (I would prefer to use xChange) which does allow me to edit the exact same docs. It's Interesting that two PDF editors would handle these security settings differently.
I did check the security settings in one doc and it noted no security, but changing the document and document assembly are not allow, see the screen shot.

Was there ever any conclusion to this query? I have also found divergent behaviour.

2. Here is an example of [url=https://www.unisuper.com.au/-/media/files/forms/beneficiaries/binding-death-benefit-nomination-form.pdf]a document with interactive forms, and editing restrictions, but no password[/url]:

Note that the banner message reads: "This document restricts some of the Editor features in Adobe® Reader. You can save a copy of this document that will not be restricted."
The dialogue box message reads: "* This document has restricted some operations, to allow for extended features in Adobe® Reader."
Off-topic: I thought the application was called Acrobat Reader; more fully it could be called Adobe Acrobat Reader?

I am curious as to how this document was created.

3. Here is an example of [url=https://greenpeacefund.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/FUND-Public_Disclosure_Copy_-_Greenpeace_Fund_Inc-2022.pdf]a document with signature(s), and editing restrictions, but no password[/url]:

Note that the banner message reads: "At least one signature requires validating."
The dialogue box message reads: "* Signature(s) in this document will restrict some operations."
The document also has interactive forms, but that is not mentioned in explaining the restrictions.

4. And lastly, here is an example of [url=https://greenpeacefund.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Greenpeace-Fund-Inc-2023-Financial-Statements_Final.pdf]a document with password-protected security settings to enforce editing restrictions[/url]:

I will admit I am unsure how to answer your inquiry... All of what you described is expected and displayed properly in the document properties... Is there a problem you are observing here?
