Hello.
I am using PDF-Tools to batch print, but I cannot figure out how to place the output files in a specific folder location. Any tips?
I have deselected the save options because I don't want a dialog box to toggle for every file, but I want to control that output file location instead of it going to a recent files default location.

Re: PDF-Tools Batch Print Output Location
Hello, alchie11
I should first say that it is generally not advised to print an existing PDF to PDF - there are very few cases where it offers any benefits, and in most situations, it will result in data loss for dynamic elements including form fields, links, and bookmarks.
If you understand that this is inherently a lossy process, and still wish to do so, than you just need to specify the target folder location manually. Also to ensure that you are not prompted every time you save a file with the same name - you might want to add the "autonumber" or "date" macro to your filename, so that the output is made somewhat unique automatically. Any time you need to change the output location, you will have to do so from this dialogue, before running the tool, there is no way to make it selectively appear only sometimes - for changing mid-tool run action.
Kind regards,

Re: PDF-Tools Batch Print Output Location
Where do I specify target location? Can I change the default recent files location (which I believe is the My Documents) to a path I want?
I tried adding the date macro, but I still get prompted for each file. I want to batch print 100 pdfs without the save dialog box appearing and I want to control where the output files are going without it being the My Documents folder. I know other tools in PDF-tools have a Save Document feature, but Print Document does not. But if I can change the default location, that would make it simpler for this task.
Thanks.

Hello, alchie11
You may want to create a unique printer profile to use, please follow the steps here: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowledgeba ... e-Printers
While you are doing so - the "path" field from my screenshot above is the one you will need to use to define the save location.
Then once that is done, re-open PDF-Tools and use the "more options" button on the print function, to customize the printer - and set it to use the specific profile you needed.

Scratch that. I figured it out. So the check box is not a mandatory field for the path to be set in the profile. I thought it was. But when I unchecked it, the path remained and pdf tool bulk print worked with that profile. Not what I am used to with other print applications, but this works.
