I have noticed some unexpected behavior when selecting a range of items using Shift+Click in the Bookmark and Thumbnails panes. It seems that the "starting point" for a range selection is not always updated to the currently selected item as expected.
I am using a sample PDF with 15 pages, where each page has a corresponding bookmark.
- Click on bookmark "Page 6".
- Shift+Click on bookmark "Page 9". As expected, four bookmarks (Page 6 to 9) are selected.
- Press Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V to duplicate them. The four new bookmarks are now selected (as shown in Figure A).
- Shift+Click on bookmark "Page 13".
- Expected: A range from the newly duplicated items to Page 13 should be selected (Figure B).
- Actual: The selection expands from the original Page 6 (the starting point of Step 1) all the way to Page 13, resulting in 12 items being selected (Figure C).
-
The capture software used (ScreenToGif) displays a yellow circle around the mouse cursor when the left mouse button is clicked
and a red circle when the right mouse button is clicked, so you can tell which mouse button was clicked just by looking at the screen.
Case 2: Range selection after changing the current page and right-clicking
- Click on bookmark "Page 6".
- Scroll the page view to Page 1. The "current page" indicator (pale yellow highlight) moves to Page 1.
- Right-click on bookmark "Page 10".
- Click on an empty area of the toolbar to dismiss the context menu. Bookmark "Page 10" is now the only item selected (Figure A).
- Shift+Click on bookmark "Page 13".
- Expected: Items from Page 10 to Page 13 should be selected (Figure B).
- Actual: The selection starts from Page 6 (the previous selection before the right-click) and extends to Page 13, selecting 8 items in total (Figure C).

Thank you so much for your continued support.
