I have either forgotten how to deal with the following or never knew but I would appreciate some guidance.
When merging pages, we users have alignment options both vertically and horizontally.
When merging a series of page sets, I am usually doing it the same way for each set: all horizontally aligned top and all vertically aligned left, for instance. However, I am finding that each time I use the Merge Pages tool I have to re-select those choices. Que pasa? Is there a setting that will 'remember' settings of the tool from one use to the next or set selections to my custom defaults?
Thanking you in advance for your consideration and I welcome any suggestions you might have.

Re: Managing Page Alignment When Merging Pages
Hello, PHK
The fact these settings are not being remembered when you click "OK" in the dialogue is itself quite strange. They should be retained between uses and even application close/open. I don't believe any settings can prevent them from being written. Are you sure you have clicked "OK" instead of "cancel" to close the dialogue after making these changes?
Kind regards,

Re: Managing Page Alignment When Merging Pages
Hello Daniel,
I am not sure if this is the exact same issue @PHK mentioned, but I have also confirmed a problem where the Horizontal alignment setting is not saved, specifically when set to Left.
As usual, I have outlined the specific steps to reproduce this starting from a clean state (reset settings). I have also included the corresponding timecodes from the attached video for your reference.
[0:06] Create a new document with 100 pages (A4 size).
[0:13] Add page numbers to each page using the Watermark feature for better visibility.
[0:23] Open the Merge Pages dialog and select "4 (2/2)" from "Pages per Sheet".
[0:28] Enable the "Don't Upscale Pages" option.
[0:32] Select A1 as the "Paper Size".
[0:36] Change the "Horz. alignment" option to Left.
[0:42] Click OK to close the Merge Pages dialog.
[0:46] Execute the Undo command.
[0:49] Re-open the Merge Pages dialog. Note that the "Horz. alignment" field is now blank. Also, at this point, please confirm that the horizontal alignment for each page in the preview is set to Left. That is, although the option field is blank, since the horizontal alignment shifts to Left in the preview, we can infer that its internal setting is Left.
Hoping that the above information will be of some help to you.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
Best regards,
rakunavi

Re: Managing Page Alignment When Merging Pages
Thank you, rakunavi, for your support of my inquiry and detailed discussion of your experiences. And, Daniel, I am not hitting 'cancel' between operations as I am usually doing one set after another without a break or interruptions.
All best,
FringePhil

Re: Managing Page Alignment When Merging Pages
I get a notification that Sean commented on this thread but I don't see it anywhere. Very odd.
I have the same results as shown in rakunavi's GIF. I suppose if it is not an option, and it is not a feature, dare I say it might be a 'bug'? If so, too bad it missed the cut for the 408 update.

Re: Managing Page Alignment When Merging Pages
Hello, PHK
If Sean did post and it is not here, my best guess would be a misclick, or that he wrote something similar to Rakunavi's excerpt, and figured that the above was more useful.
In any case, thank you both for continuing the topic. I have escalated this to the Dev team for further review - and hopefully we can see a solution soon.
Kind regards,

Hello, PHK
And I have a very quick update today! This item has been identified, and should be fixed in time for the next release (which may quite possibly be 11.0)
Kind regards,
