Good Morning,
I am finding difficulty in hiding whole toolbars from our users. I'd like to hide the whole of the 'Protect' tool bar (for instance) - but i am unable to find what i need to put in to get it to hide.
To get individual items to hide i've been successful in using:
rbar.protect.docuSign:0|rbar.organize.pages:0
but none of the folowing seem to work to hide the whole of the protect toolbar:
protect:0|Protect:0|rbar.Protect:0|rbar.protect:0
Is there a listing where i can get the exact spelling (and capitalization as that seems to matter) of all the toolbars, and how to format it properly so i can block out the whole toolbar, instead of just the individual items?
Thank you,
Jason

Hi jabberjabber,
Please have a look through the sysadmin manual - you should find what you need there:

Re: Editor Admin template - Hide Toolbars
Sean,
Thank you for your reply!
I started by consulting the manual before posting in the forums, and in looking through it found the example using rbar.protect.docuSign:0 there. The issue is that none of the other examples provided either in the Template it's self, or in the examples given in the documentation seem to work. I see there are detailed instructions on how to find an action's full name to block, but i am not seeing the same for the toolbar/ribbon elements - and can't seem to find the right names to block the whole menu item (Protect, Share, Convert, etc), and it's sub items.
Is there something i'm missing when looking at the documentation?
Thank you,
Jason

Hello, jabberjabber
Did you see Paul's email yesterday? I believe he has answered this fairly clearly at the time?

Kind regards,Paul wrote:at present hiding entire Toolbars is not possible via Group Policy, the best one can manage is the tools themselves:
rbar.protect.digiSigns:0|rbar.protect.signsAndInitials:0|rbar.protect.redact:0|rbar.protect.docSecurity:0|rbar.protect.docuSign:0|rbar.home.protect:0|rbar.protect.msrms:0
should do the trick.
Meanwhile I talked the devs into adding a policy to hide an entire ribbon. While for internal use only, should you refer to RT#7768: Feature Request :: Editor :: Group Policy to toggle Ribbon's tabs via GPO in email, then any support staff member should be able to get you a status report. Ultimately the priority of this item is at the development team leader's discretion.
I hope that helps.
