Limiting search results by file date

I find the search function very useful and I use it a lot. However, It often delivers a large number of irrelevant results when I am only looking for a recent file. How can I limit the search to files having a creation or modification time since a particular date or within a particular date range?

I am afraid there is no function to filter based on file creation timestamp. You might have to limit the target files by date first.
