Create 1D barcodes

Hello all,

we have multiple subscriptions for XChange Editor Plus. Currently I have a task to create a custom form containing different barcodes.

The customer now wants 1D regular barcodes to be included as well - but I only found PDF417, Data matrix and QR Code barcodes.

Can anyone tell me if regular barcodes can be implemented? Like with PDF417, I want to configure a dependency on a form field to then generate the barcode, like it is possible with PDF417.

A quick update, The barcode formats we offer in form fields are all of those that the PDF Specification supports in that area, sadly we cannot add additional items to that specific list. With that said, the "add" tool does allow you to apply barcodes in such formats already:

These are simply applied as either a "stamp" or "vector drawing" in the defined area:

So it wont be possible to connect the 1D barcode with a form field with a number in it like with PDF417 in the future?

EDIT:

Is there at least a possibility to change the value of a current 1D barcode instead of deleting and add a new one with a new value?
Id like to add 1D barcodes and set them in place so the user only needs to change the value of the barcode by hand. That would be very helpful.

Unfortunately no, we will not be able to implement this into form fields until the PDF Specification changes to include them.

As for the existing tool, neither Stamps, nor base content sections are able to retain this kind of "dynamic" functionality after placement, as per the Specification. These will need to be manually written and placed using the defined tool I am sorry to say.
