Need later Adobe Reader

Post by dspady »

I have a file that I want to open and when I try, I get the following message:

To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer. You can upgrade
to the latest version of Adobe Reader from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

For further support, go to http://www.adobe.com/support/products/acrreader.html

I have tried to attach the file but get the error message "The extension is not allowed". This is interesting because the file has no extension. It was a *.pdf file but I couldn't attach it with that extension, so I renamed it with no extension. What is the next step.

You need to compress the PDF file (don't rename it) with a utility like 7-Zip or IZarc. Every internet user should have a compression utility to make files more compact for emailing, uploading, etc.

That should have been "every Internet user."

Edit option now working OK.

it does have - do you not see 2 buttons in the top left of each message ?

If not - could be that we need to modify the settings - please advise and I will ask our web dev team to check it out.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Best regards

No, I don't see any Quote button either.

I am using Opera 9.51, but there are no buttons in IE7 either.

This is what I see:

See also this earlier post by quant who also has no edit buttons. In the response to that post, they are said to be on the top right.

The link below the post to go back to the top appears as just:

T

If I use the fit to width option in Opera, then I see this:

I have added the file so you can read it.

It would be helpful if you would post an email to the writer whenever a response is made to their post. This is done in several forums and makes it much easier to follow what is going on.

Many thanks.
