Can a link be added directly INSIDE a comment?

Post by kio »

Hello:
000036.gif
If I create a link, for example from a yellow-highlighted word on page 2 to a red-highlighted word on page 1 (see the two red arrows), the link works correctly:
it takes me directly from the yellow-highlighted word on page 2 to the red-highlighted word on page 1 (see the blue arrow, which indicates the blue box highlighting the successful link).

Now, would it be possible to add an option so that the link on page 2 (yellow) directly opens the CONTENT of the red comment (see the green arrow), i.e. ‘I’m doing a test’? Otherwise, I always need two steps:

1. create a link to go from page 2 to page 1
2. then double-click the red comment to open its content.

Thanks.

Hello, kio

To do so would require some custom JavaScript, and direct reference to the specific Comment ID value, which would be rather difficult to get ahold of. Technically possible, but Unfortunately it is not an option I can provide samples for. I can however share a link to the acrovat JS Api manual, which should be used for PDF files in general:
https://opensource.adobe.com/dc-acrobat ... croJS.html

In effect, you would have your link use the "run a JavaScript" action instead of "go to page" or other similar actions - along with a custom script to adjust the view location, and open the target comment popup. One small caveat with this idea however, is that many recipients may have disabled JS application wide.
