Custom attribute on annot items

Post by lidds »

I was wondering if you can add custom attributes to annotation elements and still conform to Adobe ISO format?

For example if I wanted to add to every annotation element a property called "Severity" which could have a string value assigned to it and that would be saved in the .fdf file, is this possible?

Thanks

Hi Simon,

That's a tough question to answer without some technical specifics. It would depend on how exactly you want to add such elements, and the way in which they would be added, and so on. It does sound quite likely that it would "break the spec" to me - I'd suggest taking a look at the specification yourself if you'd like a more specific technical breakdown of what is/isn't allowed within the spec guidelines.

Kind regards,
