Hello All, I tried adding a keyboard shortcut for drawing circles and lines, but so far it doesnt work. My failed approach was to right click on the open toolbar area, click Customize Toolbars, and then select the Commands tab and save a few keyboard shortcuts for the Perimeter circle and Line tools so I can quickly markup while on a Teams call.
Is there a way anyone knows how to do this? Or is there another way I can skip navigating through the menu tree to get to these two commands? Thanks!

Hi Fred,
I'm afraid there's no faster way to enable those tools than to select them manually.
Kind regards,

Re: Looking for shortcuts for drawing tools
I just tried and I was able to successfully set a keyboard shortcut for the line tool. When I press the keyboard shortcut, the line tool is enabled so that drawing with my mouse creates a line.fred1111 wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2026 12:24 pm Hello All, I tried adding a keyboard shortcut for drawing circles and lines, but so far it doesnt work. Re: Looking for shortcuts for drawing tools
Thank you! Yes exactly.
For some reason when I go to the command tab and set up a single key bind linked to a letter, or something like CTRL-SHIFT-L, nothing happens, or a line of text appears that says "you may press ESC to stop autoscroll"
I didn't realize I already have those two commands for line and oval in the top right (on the toolbar) so maybe I'll just click those instead.

HI mCHSNUg5Pz8cPap,
Can you please clarify how you were able to do that? I tried to do so via editing keyboard shortcuts, but found that it didn't work.

See this gif video. Note that I was pressing Ctrl+Shift+J at the end to invoke the line tool.Sean - PDF-XChange wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2026 4:56 pm HI mCHSNUg5Pz8cPap,

Re: Looking for shortcuts for drawing tools
There are some keyboard shortcuts that are hard-coded into pdf xchange, and always override the custom ones entered. Not sure if that got fixed yet, but I don't think so: viewtopic.php?p=198293#p198293fred1111 wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2026 4:52 pm Thank you! Yes exactly.
