Remove AI Assistant?

Hello!

Is there a way to turn off or hide the AI Assistant button on the top of the program? I have no interest in using it, and I'd like to keep my workspace clear of any unnecessary buttons that might get clicked by mistake.

Hi,

You can remove the "AI Assistant" in PDF-XChange Editor V11 as follows:
- click the File-menu > Preferences > Plugins,
- turn off the check-box at "AI Assistant",
- click Apply and OK,
- restart PDF-XChange Editor.

It should also be noted, if you wish to install the software without the AI components present at all, you can do so via a Custom installation.

Do keep in mind that the AI tools do however, only have the ability to work when you have provided your own API key - they cannot be used and will fail to interact with any model, unless you go through the setup process manually to connect your account. Even after connection, the sole purpose of the tool at the moment is document summary and data inquiry. If you have not manually opened the AI panel, and initiated a conversation with your chosen model, no information is ever shared and no connection to the AI models is ever established.

If you decide after installation of V11 that you do not wish the AI components to be enabled, you can disable the plugin as Willy suggested, or reinstall anew. (Note that the AI Assistant functions are NOT included in any V10 installations)
