Regarding the new custom "Open" and "Save As" dialogs in Version 11, I would like to suggest an improvement to the behavior when renaming files, specifically in Contents View and Tiles View.
[Current Behavior]
In Contents View, each file entry consists of four elements arranged in a 2x2 layout:
- Top-Left: File Name | Top-Right: Date Modified
- Bottom-Left: File Type | Bottom-Right: File Size
This behavior completely hides critical file metadata (such as the modification date and file size) the moment the user starts editing the file name.
When renaming a file, users often need to refer to the file's modification date or size to determine the correct naming convention (e.g., adding a date suffix or differentiating between versions by file size). Having this information suddenly disappear creates a poor user experience and degrades workflow efficiency compared to the standard system dialog.
Could you please modify the in-place text editor so that only the File Name field becomes editable, keeping the other metadata fields (Date Modified, File Size, etc.) fully visible in their original positions during the renaming process? This would match the system dialog behavior and significantly enhance the usability of your custom dialogs.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best regards,
rakunavi
