Highlight Function acts as Insert Text Box.

Hi I use the highlight function a lot.

Suddenly today, when highlight (any colour) is selected, the cursor shows a Text Box. I cannot highlight text in a PDF that I used to.

I updated PDF XChange Editor, without luck.

I then uninstalled and reinstalled the newest version, and it still does the same. On my friend's computer it is still working fine.

Any suggestions please?

Welcome to the Forum.

I general depending on the highlight tool used each of your Comment/Annotation tools would have a default style used. You can check those styles here( Comment Style Palette is selectable once you right click one of the tools):

Also if Highlight text tool is been used but there is no actual text present ( scanned, printed documents) - there will be no text to be selected. Does this happens for all documents and can you clarify witch of the three tools are you using?

The most direct approach would be reset your settings to the default ( File >> Manage Settings >> Reset) , but if you have some important custom bars or stamps this will also reset them so it is advisable to first export a setting file ( same menu)

Hi Jordan, it was my mistake. I used a pdf document that contained an image of the text
