Open a pdf with a text to search in argument.

Post by gauthierDC »

Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to open a pdf with a text to search in argument.
Example: search "Tel: +44 (0)20 8503 8711" in the .\Help\PDFXVE10Sm.pdf file

Code: Select all

PS C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Editor> .\PDFXEdit.exe .\Help\PDFXVE10Sm.pdf -s "Tel: +44 (0)20 8503 8711"
In my situation, i have a string generated by an external software, and I need to make sure that it is well positioned in the pdf (manual visual inspection).

Since I have a lot of information to seek, and the inspection is really quick, jumping from a software to another and copy past the text to search is time consuming.
Thanks!

Hello, gauthierDC

I don't believe there is a way to do so via the command line options offered, but I am checking with the Dev team to see if there is a possibility I am unaware of.

[Edit] I am apparently losing memory like a faucet this week - there most definitely is a command line option for this, which I have used in the past and just forgot exists.

Code: Select all

PDFXEdit.exe /A search="sample search words" “D:\test.pdf”
Enjoy!
