Adding Line numbers to a document

Adding Line numbers to a document

Is there a way to add line numbers in the left side of a PDF? We have to do this for some of our clients, and I normally do this is a Word document and PDF it, but for some documents I only have a PDF, and I was wondering if this can be done. If so, how? See screen shot for an example.

I am afraid not. PDFs are entirely coordinate based. There are no lines to show the numbers of.
