in 10.0 and earlier versions, the software settings is stored as Settings.dat in the software folder.
unable to find the setting file of the 11.0 version.
[it is indeed better to place the settings in the software folder, so that once one makes a setup for using the software, it is easy to copy the folder to other computers without setting again, especially useful for portable use -- even for upgrading, the settings can be simply copied]
where is settings stored in the latest 11.0 version?

Re: where is settings stored in the latest 11.0 version?
It seem for v 11 setings are stored in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PDF-XChange\PDFEditor\Settings
For V10 from documentation
The main PDF-XChange Editor settings are stored in the user registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software
The exact Editor settings branch:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDFXEditor\3.0
https://help.pdf-xchange.com/sysadmin/e ... tings.html
You can export settings via File->Manage Settings

It's impossible to lead us astray for we don't care even to choose the way.

Re: where is settings stored in the latest 11.0 version?
Hello bluemode,
Even with version 11.0.1, if you use the portable version, your settings will be saved as "Settings.dat" in the folder where the program is extracted. On the other hand, if you use the installed version, they are saved in the registry. There doesn't seem to be any change in this behavior between version 10.x and 11.x.
Since your settings were previously saved in "Settings.dat," it means you were using the portable version in version 10.x or earlier.
Is it possible that you are accidentally using the installed version for version 11.0.1?
Best regards,
rakunavi

I am using a portable version of V11, but there is no settings in the folder... I thought the developer may have changed that...

Re: where is settings stored in the latest 11.0 version?
Hello bluemode,
Thank you for checking.
Another possible cause is that write permissions might not be granted to the folder where you extracted the portable version. In that case, no matter how hard the application tries to save the settings as "Settings.dat" in that folder upon closing, it will fail.
I have made a post about this topic in the past. Please feel free to check it for your reference: Best regards,
