PDFs not opening in emails
After the latest update, we have multiple users that are not able to open PDFs from their email. Before going down a rabbit hole, does any else have this same issue and have they came up with a resolution?

There are some known issues with Outlook specifically, which we are already developing fixes for.
If the issue extends not only to the mail client, but is system wide, you may need to manually change the windows "default apps" menu option for PDF files - and then restart the PC for it to take effect.

Hey, we’re having the same issue here: PDFs from Outlook suddenly don’t open anymore with PDF-XChange Editor. Seems to be exactly what’s described in this thread. In classic Outlook nothing happens when trying to open them, and in the new Outlook it actually throws an error. We already tried changing default apps and did a full reinstall of PDF-XChange, but no luck. We’ve got around 300 users and are getting quite a lot of tickets about this right now. The only workaround so far is saving the attachment manually and opening it afterwards, which is pretty annoying. Did anyone find a fix or a better workaround for this?

I have the same problem. After the update, I can no longer open PDFs in Outlook, although the preview works.
PDF-XChange is set as the default, and my IT department can't help either.

Do you have a time frame on this resolution? We have went and manually set the windows default app and this does not help. Unfortunately no... Our hands are tied and we are stuck waiting on Microsoft to resolve the error on their end.. Once the Ms Defender issues are resolved, this should work once again.
