RT#7864: Bug: Touch issues with opening annotations

Hello all,

I would like to report a behavior I observed when interacting with annotations that have popup notes in PDF‑XChange Editor.

For example, consider any annotation (a highlight annotation is just one representative case) that has a popup note containing text. In such situations, hovering the mouse over the annotation displays the text as a tooltip, and double‑clicking the annotation opens the popup note.

When operating with a mouse, a single click on the annotation merely selects it and nothing further happens. However, when performing the same action on a touch screen, the result differs depending on how quickly the user moves from one annotation to the next. I found that when operating at a faster pace, the popup note may open unintentionally.

To clarify, “slow” and “fast” here do not refer to the speed of the tap itself (touch down / touch up), but rather to the interval between interacting with one annotation and the next when moving sequentially through multiple annotations.

In the video, I sequentially interact with seven annotations from top to bottom. The video consists of two main parts: the first half demonstrates mouse interaction, and the second half demonstrates touch interaction. Each half is further divided into two segments: first operating at a slow pace, then at a faster pace. For the mouse high‑speed demonstration, I used an AutoHotkey script, but the same result can be reproduced manually.

In short, the video simply performs the following four sequences:

1. Mouse interaction (Normal Speed)
2. Mouse interaction (High Speed)
3. Touch interaction (Normal Speed)
4. Touch interaction (High Speed)

As shown in the video, only in case 4 — fast touch interaction — some popup notes open unintentionally.

I found it curious that only rapid touch interaction produces a different result, so I am reporting this for reference.
