Who messed with the Search function?

What the H*** is THIS?

So, everytime I start typing in anything beginning with "C", I'm going to get THIS? I'm going to have to stop and CLICK THIS?

And, there's apparently no way in Options TO TURN IT OFF?!

WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?
