Attachments in Outlook Classic not opening - NOTHING happens

I am running Windows 11 and M365 Business Premium - everything is up to date. My PDF-Xchange Editor Plus was set as the Default PDF handler and working well... until recently.
Suddenly, when I try to open a PDF attachment in Outlook nothing happens... absolutely nothing! I can preview without issue, but Open does nothing - so I am having to either save the attachment and than open it, or switch to the browser as the default viewer. :(
Is this another victim of the MS Update Monster...?

Welcome to our forums!

Unfortunately this happens due to a restriction in Outlook and Microsoft Defender if you are on a managed machine.

Please have a look at this KB article on what your IT team can do to resolve that:
