[Version 11.0.0] Miscellaneous issues

Post by zacvicchamber »

Issue #1: Save As or select Data Source no longer opens Windows Explorer to easily save files to OneDrive shortcuts

In version 10, Save As or selecting Data Sources was a clean experience that opened a Windows Explorer pop up where users could save files to or select data sources from their OneDrive or Teams/SharePoint sites using OneDrive shortcuts under their OneDrive.

Now, they are greeted with PDF-XChange's built in file explorer instead, where they have to navigate to This PC -> Windows (C:) -> Users -> [username] -> OneDrive - [company name] instead.

Even if they add OneDrive as a place, it only includes their files, it does not carry across any shortcuts to Teams/SharePoint files. This is very cumbersome and frustrating.

Issue #2: Signature Fonts missing, path change?

In version 10, we could add additional Signature Fonts for users here: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Tracker Software\Common\Signature Fonts

The fonts have appeared to have dropped off, is there a new file path we can use?

Issue #3: Unable to combine PDFs

On version 10, users could combine PDFs off a right click option from File Explorer.

Now, the app doesn't respond (i.e. nothing happens).

Hi zacvicchamber,

Welcome to our Forum.

Version 11 was temporarily recalled due to several bugs.

Our developers are actively working on resolving these problems, and the fixes are being treated with high priority.

At this moment, we cannot provide an exact release date for the updated build.
However, we expect the fixed build to be available next week, once proper testing is completed.

In the meantime, you may either wait for the next build of version 11, or revert to the last stable release, version 10.8.5.410, which is available for download in your account:

https://www.pdf-xchange.com/myaccount

If you want to stay on version 11 for now, please be aware that with that version we introduced new folder/file paths.

The new product path:

C:\Program Files\PDF-XChange\

The new path for the XCVAUTL licensing tool:

"C:\Program Files\PDF-XChange\Vault\XCVault.exe"

...and the signatures fonts:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\PDF-XChange\SignatureFonts

Regards.

Hi zacvicchamber.

About Issue #1: we will fix/improve this stuff in the next version. There we will show all OneDrive-shortcuts you have in the system.

But please clarify what you mean by "...or Teams/SharePoint sites using OneDrive shortcuts under their OneDrive" ? Can you show a screenshot of that in Windows Explorer? (for sure, with redacted/blurred any personal data). We need to understand what real use case you have.

Thanks.

Hi Vasyl - PDF-XChange.

Please see attachments 'Teams.png' and 'OneDrive shortcuts.png'.

Users will go to their team's Teams or SharePoint site and 'Add shortcut to OneDrive'. This allows them to access these shared files under their OneDrive in their File Explorer. These shortcut folders are indicated by an arrow.

Staff were using this to select files for the populate fields action in PDF-XChange Editor (sometimes needing to select 3), as well as the requirement to save files back to the Teams site. (Side note: trying to use SharePoint via 'Add a Place' as a workaround returned a blank window.)

Thanks.
