Hello everyone,
So this is a weird one I have auser who is getting an issue where every PDF she opens up in editor is requiring her to put in a password to edit the PDF, this occuring even for PDFs that are not password protected and oddly enough she can sometimes get past this prompt by clicking cancel on the prompt asking her for a password.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling PDF xchange editor, I am also unable to replicate the issue while I am signed in under my own user account. The computer is running windows 10 and we are using the laters version of PDF xchange editor 11.
Let me know if anyone has any guidance on this issue.

Re: Password Requirement on every PDF
Hi,
This is not a known issue to me.
What you can try is "Reset Settings" via the File-menu > Manage Settings and then restart PDF-XChange Editor.
Before executing this, make sure to first run "Export Settings" to not loose the current user settings (if needed later),
Make sure to activate all the check-boxes in the concerning dialog-box.
Keep us posted.
Kind regards.

Hello,
I had my user attempt to reset settings and restart PDF xchange and it appears the issue is still manifesting.

Honestly, no immediate idea ...
Things you can try to see if it makes any difference ...
1) Try with the portable version of PDF-XChange Editor to open a PDF
2) Right-mouse-click on a PDF and then "Open with" > Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge or ...

Re: Password Requirement on every PDF
The file creator may have put some security measures on the document to prevent unauthorized access.
You should be able to open the document if it says "No Security" but you may need a password if it says something else.
Check with the document provider.

Hi zeno.enderle.
Please provide a screenshot of the "enter password" dialog box that your user sees. Our 'Enter Password' looks like:
Do you use a document management system (DMS)? It might display its own authentication interface when a user accesses documents (even if they aren't password-protected). Or perhaps these are RMS-documents managed by MS Purview (Azure) or FileOpen?
Cheers.

Re: Password Requirement on every PDF
The documents itself does not have passwords. These are ordinary pdf documents. It does however seem like a practical way to have people enter all the passwords they can imagine. When going to document properties, it simply won't remove the "changes not allowed" so that the password requirement can be removed. I thought I was buying a secure and advanced pdf handler as ADBe gives me usch a pain in my neck
