[11.1.0] Renamed/saved files keep the TEMPORARY attribute – ignored by sync clients (Synology Drive)

Post by paul_france »

Hello,

Since updating to PDF-XChange PRO 11.1.0 (Editor Plus, build Sept 25 2026, installed on Oct 7 2026), files renamed from within the Editor (File > Rename) end up with the Windows FILE_ATTRIBUTE_TEMPORARY attribute set. I have also seen it on some files simply saved from the Editor.

Consequence: sync clients skip files with this attribute. In my case, Synology Drive Client 3.5.1 never uploads these PDFs to my NAS, without any visible error. Everything worked fine with the previous version until last week.

How to reproduce:
1. Open any PDF located in a normal local folder.
2. Rename it with File > Rename.
3. In PowerShell, run: (Get-Item "C:\path\to\renamed.pdf").Attributes

Expected result: Archive
Actual result: Archive, Temporary

Workaround: removing the attribute manually in PowerShell makes the file sync again, but this has to be done after every rename.

Environment:
- Windows 10 (64-bit)
- PDF-XChange PRO 11.1.0.0 (Editor Plus, Enhanced OCR)
- Synology Drive Client 3.5.1-16102

Could you please confirm and fix this so that the final file no longer keeps the Temporary attribute? Is there a setting I can change in the meantime?

Thank you for all,
Paul

Hello, paul_france

This is a known issue which is seeing a swift resolution implemented as we speak. If all goes well in testing, it should be available with Version 11.1.1, soon.
