PDF-Xchange Thumbnail plugin

Hello,

We work with your free PDF software, but we have no thumbnail prewiew in the windows explorer.
I read that you where making a plugin for that but how is that coming?

Shell extention will be available soon (as a separate download). It will contains: thumbnails, tooltip, properties page for PDFs, properties handler (Vista), preview handler (Office 2007, Vista), search filter for Windows Desktop Search.

Our office has just installed PDF-xchange pro system wide.

any update on when the "thumbnail view in explorer" plug in will be avaliable and also will a notice be sent out to registered user or will we need to keep checking your website manually to see if the plug in has become avaliable?

This quote from Tom has nothing to do with the thumbnail/viewer plugin. It's from a thread about printing problems. Moreover, all indications have been that the plugin will be a separate release.

This is coming in Buoild 39 - the final release - which we have delayed by a few days as other problems reared up and we wanted to ensure that some promised functionality and the updated help file were all ready.

Finally - it looks like all is almost ready and the release should take place sometime on Wednesday 27th August.

Any update on the availability of the thumbnail view in explorer would be helpful.

It's mentioned that this will be in build 39, could this be clarified as i have been running build 39 for a while and no futher updates are currently avaiable.

Some of our users are very keen to have this funtionality

What you're running is build 39 release candidate. Check the Help menu, About for the version.

Build 39 final will be released when its ready. No doubt there will be an announcement when it is released. Yesterday was the scheduled release date, but the nature of software development means that goals keep moving.

I've downloaded and installed the final 39.2 build. I'm really grateful to be able to summarize notes into an .rtf file. Thanks for that! However, I still don't seem to have the ability to view thumbnails in explorer or preview pdfs in Outlook. Is this functionality indeed included in this build? Is there something I have to do to activate this functionality?

We're also looking foreward to have Thumbnail-Previews in the Explorer ...
Or is there a trick to have adobe shown the Previews while starting PDF-XChange on a doubleclick?

Installing Adobe Reader should suffice to have PDF thumbnails in Windows Explorer. Adobe Reader does not have to be configured to be the default PDF viewer for the thumbnail functionality to work.

Just tried it here (actually about 2 minutes ago, accidentally:), and it's the same. No thumbs without Adobe as standard viewer.

Yes - it will be available when Build 2.0040 is available in approx 10 days time - most likely as an optional download - though the precise installation method is currently being assessed.

I desperately need pdf thumbnails in W. Explorer.. ...It's already Oct 22 and I see the release date has been moved up quite a few times....Could you please let us know a realistic date so we can plan accordingly? If it will be a while, I will have to go back to Adobe until thumbnails are available in PDF-Xchange...Will you be notifying registered members, or do we need to keep checking back? Thanks for your help! Apart from the missing thumbnails, I am very happy with your program!

The new build will be released for sure - tomorrow - Friday 24th October.

We will release intially via the forum as a notice only and as a 'Release Candidate' - to allow the update as an optional item first, as this update contains a number of new features and also an entirely new 'print output engine' - and we would prefer this were not the published release for a few days to gets some feedback from existing users - before publishing as the default download - the notice will be published in this forum as soon as ready.
