Even though I have marked xchange as the default viewer every pdf I get sent still opens in acrobat 8 - If I uninstall acrobat I can't open any pdf and I can't seem to make xchange the default viewer through "open with" and browse to - thanks

Re: Default viewer
Are you opening them from links? Check your browser settings. In Opera, one would change the setting in Preferences, Downloads, application/pdf MIME type, Edit.cvening wrote:every pdf I get sent still opens in acrobat 8

Re: Default viewer
Thanks for the prompt reply and offer of assistance. I am opening the pdf from attachments in emails sent to me. I have tried every way I can think of to make xchange the default viewer

Re: Default viewer
Are PDF files opening with PDF-XChange from Windows Explorer? If so, then PDF-XChange has correctly been set as the default viewer. If your email program is opening them with Adobe Reader, then that is an issue with your email program. Outlook Express I presume, but I don't have that installed. Check the options in your email program.
