Irritating Behavior
i have PDF Xchange viewer (free version), Wdoz XT SP2
when i insert a comment or a graphic (ie box or circle or ...) from the tool bar, deselect it, and then reselect it, on reselecting, a new tool bar pops up, specific to the object (understandably). This is placed below my other tool bars (naturally) and the PDF page i am looking at is lowered on the screen .. HOWEVER the graphic isnt lowered the same way, as it becomes 'attached' to the cursor -- it jumps and becomes displaced upwards or is moved up on the page from where it used to be .. so i have to reposition it .. this is exceptionally annoying, and it happens all the time

Re: Irritating Behavior
I see the bug, but it is easy to avoid.
Move the Properties toolbar. Either make it floating, or arrange your toolbars differently so that the properties toolbar will always fit on the line where it was placed without wrapping to the next line, and therefore without moving the page. The properties toolbar varies in length, depending on what kind of objects are selected, so leaving it floating makes the best use of space. Toggle it on/off with Control E. You can also place toolbars at the side of the window.

Re: Irritating Behavior
I found this irritating too, several months ago. Replacing toolbars solves it ...
What I find irritating are two things:
1. the long text in the buttons that cannot be switched off just to show the icons, like "Typewriter" or "Keep tool selected". Developers keep adding new features, and I soon won't be able to fit the icons I want to be displayed in two rows, because of the long text and because of another irritating feature: F11.
2. I cannot switch of the measuring toolbar and others that I don't use, because when I press F11, they will appear again instead of doing the opposing thing-> to remove all toolbars from the screen. So I have to remove the icons from the "measuring toolbar" and others, and keep the empty toolbars on the screen. I have three toolbars like that, empty ones, just taking valuable space. But in this way, when I press F11, it does really remove all toolbars, and pressing it again shows them.
grrrrrrr, rant over

Right-click, customize. Right-click again on the Typewriter button and change the style from Default to Image.quant wrote:1. The long text in the buttons that cannot be switched off just to show the icons, like "Typewriter" or "Keep tool selected".
Try F8 instead.2. I cannot switch off the measuring toolbar and others that I don't use, because when I press F11, they will appear again instead of doing the opposing thing-> to remove all toolbars from the screen.

Re: Irritating Behavior
detaching the properties bar is the best -- moving it to the side reduces the damage -- the selected object just jumps sideways a bit and is easier to reposition, but its still moves .. will be nice when this is fixed

Search pane cannot exists into the same pane as Bookmarks, etc. Reason for this: Bookmarks, Comments, Pages views are specific for the document and each document has own set of such pages.quant wrote:one more

But Search pane is one for all documents.

Re: Irritating Behavior
Sure, but I don't see this is a valid reason, maybe it's because of the way it's programmed. If I have a pane, I can display tabs in there that could be relevant to currently displayed document, but it could display also display tab that is relevant to the whole application. I suppose it is programmed the way that pane cannot contain tab relevant to document and relevant to the whole application at the same time. But why? There is no logical reason to prevent it.Ivan - Tracker Software wrote:Search pane cannot exists into the same pane as Bookmarks, etc. Reason for this: Bookmarks, Comments, Pages views are specific for the document and each document has own set of such pages.quant wrote:one more

Open two documents. Open the bookmarks pane on one and the search pane on the other. Now switch between the documents. The search pane remains open for both documents, but the bookmarks pane is only open for one.
If you want to save space, drag the Search panel away from the edge and make it floating.

Re: Irritating Behavior
And? Let's call it "Search tab" not Search pane, because it's really just a tab in the second pane. If I switch from first document to second, OK the second document won't display bookmarks tab in the first pane, but there is nothing to stop the program displaying "Search tab" in the first pane, is there?Bhikkhu Pesala wrote:Open two documents. Re: Irritating Behavior
Let's not call it a pane or a tab, let's call it a panel.
If you switch to a document where the panel containing the bookmarks/comments/thumbnails/fields/layers/ tabs is closed then the search "tab" should also be closed — any other behaviour would be inconsistent.
However, because the search "tab" applies to multiple documents it needs its own panel.
If I switch to a new tab in Opera, the Panels and the main toolbars remain open. However, the view bar, scroll bars, and address bar are document specific, so they can be in a different state for each tab.

make sense, even though I would prefer a little inconsistency hereBhikkhu Pesala wrote:Let's not call it a pane or a tab, let's call it a panel.
